Student Organizations Committee

The Student Organizations Committee is responsible for working with student groups on issues pertaining to recognition and conduct of organizations on campus. The committee serves only as a final appellate body to review decisions of the Office of Student Services regarding 1) denials of group applications for recognition and 2) imposition of sanctions on recognized student organizations. This committee is chaired by a member of the faculty/staff and reports to the vice president for student affairs. The Student Organizations Committee is composed of representatives as follows:

  • Vice president for student affairs or appointee (chair)
  • One full-time University staff member
  • President of the Student Government Association
  • President of the Greek Unity Board (or other designated fraternity/sorority life council)
  • President of the Student Life Coalition (or appointee)
  • Student-at-large appointed by the Student Government Association
  • Chair of the University Conduct and Academic Integrity Committee
  • University faculty member
  • Graduate assistant designated by the Office of Student Services
