Responsible for coordinating the commencement ceremony and making recommendations related to commencement to the provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management. The Commencement Committee is composed of one faculty representative from each academic college and Frazar Memorial Library, two representatives from Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association, one at-large member, and one representative from the Registrar’s Office (other than the registrar), Office of Student Affairs, and University Bands.

Ex-officio members include the senior dean and one representative from the Division of Athletics, Office of Enrollment Management, Office of Facilities and Plant Operations, Office of Information Technology, Office of Public Relations and University Events, Registrar’s Office, University Bookstore, and University Police.
