Testing Center Policy
Authority: Academic Affairs
Date Enacted or Revised: February 18, 2026
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear expectations and procedures for the administration of examinations through the Testing Center to maintain academic integrity, ensure fairness, and provide an organized testing environment for students and faculty.
Policy
- Fee for Testing Services
- A $5 proctoring fee is required for students utilizing Testing Center services. All applicable fees must be paid at the Cashier’s Office prior to the scheduled examination and verified at check-in. Failure to provide proof of payment will result in cancellation of the examination. This fee does not apply to students officially registered with Accessibility Services or to student-athletes taking an examination due to a university-excused, school-sponsored obligation.
- Scheduling
- The student is responsible for scheduling the exam through the mcneese.edu/testing site. Outside extreme circumstances and subsequent instructor approval, all exams must be scheduled for at least 5 business days prior to the desired exam date. Upon arrival, students must present valid photo identification. Failure to do so will result in the termination of the scheduled exam.
- Necessary Materials
- All materials related to the exam must be submitted by the instructor to the Testing Center staff no later than 24 hours prior to the exam time. Exams may be submitted to the Testing Center via email or delivered in person.
- Late Arrivals
- Students who arrive at least 15 minutes late to their scheduled exam time without prior notice or excuse will be turned away.
- Rescheduling
- Rescheduling an examination that was terminated due to any of the reasons listed above will require instructor approval and satisfactory compliance with relevant Testing Center policies.
- Exam Room Conduct
- Students must abide by all exam room regulations provided to them at the time of scheduling. Failure to do so will result in the termination of the exam and removal from the Testing Center.
- Completed Exam Retrieval
- Completed exams will be returned to the instructor via secure email. A physical copy will be delivered at the earliest convenience. Instructors may also pick up completed exams from the Testing Center.
Academic Integrity
All students who use the Testing Center’s services will be held to the highest standard of academic honesty. Cheating, plagiarism, or any form of unauthorized assistance during exams is strictly prohibited and may result in exam termination and referral to the appropriate disciplinary office. For more information, please refer to the Academic Integrity Policy in the Student Handbook. All exam content and student information are treated confidentially. Recording or copying exam materials is prohibited.
Accessibility Services and Accommodations
The Testing Center provides accommodations for students registered with the Office of Accessibility Services. Students must submit accommodation requests and appropriate documentation to that office in advance.
