McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY
McNeese's Department of English and Foreign Languages encourages active engagement in research and creative work, and our renowned faculty are committed to serving the intellectual and cultural needs of our students.
English courses give the training necessary for effective writing and speaking, encourage critical thinking, and provide a perceptive approach to literature and human values that will enrich the intellectual life of students and prepare them for a variety of careers.
Courses in foreign languages afford students the opportunity to understand, speak, read, and write in languages other than their native tongue. This coursework also acquaints students with the important non-English literature of the world and introduces them to the nature and structure of foreign languages as important parts of the world's cultural heritage.
