The College of Liberal Arts offers a broad spectrum of knowledge and training in a large number of academic and professional fields. We embrace and promote the philosophy that education is not merely for earning a living; education is for living a life.
Offer programs leading to the Associate of General Studies and Bachelor of General Studies degrees for students who have a broad range of interests and are seeking a diverse curriculum. General studies degree programs allow students to explore their interests while simultaneously preparing them for a variety of careers.
Prep for Law School
History, English and Foreign Languages, Social Sciences and Mass Communication have planned degree programs to include specific courses as core curriculum for law school preparation.
- Several scholarships are available to students who take their major work in the College of Liberal Arts.
- Students have the opportunity to participate in gallery exhibitions, performances and recitals throughout the semester.
- In 2013, McNeese Alumnus Adam Johnson (M.F.A., '96) won the Pulitzer Prize for his novel The Orphan Master's Son.
