Dr. Vallie Lynn Watson earned an undergraduate degree from University of Mississippi (BA – English and Psychology); two master’s degrees, from Southeast Missouri State University (MA – English) and University of North Carolina Wilmington (MA – Liberal Studies); and a doctorate degree from University of Southern Mississippi/Center for Writers (PhD – English/Creative Writing). She is an Assistant Professor and teaches fiction writing in the MFA program in the College of Liberal Arts, where she also serves as the editor of Boudin (the Spicy Online Cousin of The McNeese Review). Watson is the author of one novel (A River So Long, Luminis Books) and many short stories and essays, featured in literary magazines such as Bending Genres, Hobart, Moon City Review, and Midway Journal. Her research interests include flash fiction, chapbooks, magazine editing, and conference/retreat facilitation.
