Dr. Rita Costello earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and English from Bowling Green State University, her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and English from Wichita State University, and her PhD in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her research interests are broad from composition pedagogy to popular culture; however, her primary focus tends to be on visual and physical literatures (such as graphic novels, dramatic literature, hybrid works, the rhetoric of visual arts, and books as physical objects). She also does research in cultural studies (such as bureaucracy in literature) and genre literature (such as science fiction).
