Lydia Powers is an Instructor of Art Education in the Department of Visual Arts at McNeese State University. She earned her B.A. in Art Education from McNeese State University and her M.A. in Art Education from the University of Florida. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, focusing her research on communication culture and mental health in higher education.
Her work emphasizes improving campus communication and fostering inclusive learning environments that support student success in the visual arts. Alongside her teaching and research, she maintains an active studio practice in photography, collage, and mixed media art.
