Jacob Dugas is an Associate Professor of Drawing and Printmaking in the Department of Visual Arts at McNeese State University. He holds an M.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of South Dakota and a B.A. in Visual Arts with concentrations in Printmaking and Graphic Design from McNeese.

His courses emphasize critical thinking and the expansion of contemporary practices built upon a strong traditional foundation. Dugas’s research reflects this balance, ranging from traditional portraiture and landscape to experimental screenprinting, mixed media collage, and drawing—all underscoring a pursuit of the human experience. His work has been exhibited in the National Paper in Particular Exhibit, National Works on Paper, Biennial Rosenzweig Juried Exhibition, as well as in print exchanges across Louisiana, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Outside of the classroom, Dugas contributes to the regional arts community by assisting with programming at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum and Historic City Hall. He also actively encourages student participation in the Annual Print Thing Printmaking Symposium. Within the department, he serves on committees for accreditation, recruiting, and assessment.
