Bridget Vasterling McDaniel is an Assistant Professor of Art in the Department of Visual Arts at McNeese State University. She holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Art History from Louisiana State University, with additional graduate training at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Greece. She specializes in ancient sculpture and established a new stylistic category for Ionian sculpture of the fourth century B.C. to aid in the process of sculptural attribution.

Her research has been presented at national and international conferences, supported by multiple grants and endowed professorships. McDaniel coordinates the Visual Arts Academic Studies Abroad Program, teaching McNeese students in China, Egypt, Peru, Greece, Turkey, and Western Europe. She has been a leader in online teaching and innovative learning methods, receiving the President’s Award for Outstanding Innovative Teaching, the Art Educator of the Year Award, and the Outstanding Communicator of the Year Award.

McDaniel has extensive training in adult learning, course design and delivery, and accelerated course models. She has served as principal investigator for multiple U.S. Department of Education and Louisiana Board of Regents grants, leading to the creation of the Visual Resource Center for the Department of Visual Arts, where she serves as curator. She has been active in university service through the Faculty Senate, the Honors College committee, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation committee. Beyond McNeese, she has served on the board of directors for the Imperial Calcasieu Museum and collaborates with schools and community groups to provide lectures and lessons in art history.
