These classes cover topics in audio recording, computer-based music production, sound design, mixing and acoustics. Upper-level classes give students the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of the industry that is unique to their career aspirations, with special topics courses and studies in a secondary field of the student’s choosing (digital media, computer science or business).
Take Studio Lessons on a Traditional Instrument or Make Your Computer Your Instrument
All music majors at McNeese take applied instrument lessons. For students with experience on a traditional instrument, this allows them to continue developing their skills as a performing musician. However, the Music Production program welcomes students from all musical backgrounds. If you have experience as a DJ, recording musical performances or running live sound for church or other events, declare the computer as your primary instrument and take computer music lessons with one of our electronic music faculty.
