To receive academic adjustments, you must present appropriate documentation to the Office of Accessibility Services. You will also need to complete a registration form. The director will determine what services you may be eligible to receive. The services will be determined based on the provided documentation, any necessary discussions with faculty, and the course in question.
If you are determined to be eligible for testing adjustments, possible accommodations include extended time (e.g., 1.5x) and/or a reduced-distraction environment for taking the test. If tests are to be taken in a distraction-reduced environment, the student is responsible for scheduling their test with the Office of E-Learning and Testing Services.
There are several private psychologists and psychiatrists who can do this type of testing. Ask your doctor if they can recommend one. You can also get tested by Counseling Services in the Student Health Center. Vocational Rehabilitation is also another possibility; however, you must meet their eligibility requirements.
Some students may be eligible for early registration. If eligible, this allows you to plan your schedule optimally and enroll in classes at the buildings and times that are easiest for you. In some cases, it may be possible to change the classroom. However, some classes cannot be changed due to required equipment (e.g., computer labs, chemistry labs) or class size. These requests will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
