Faculty Recital to Feature Jan Scott and Friends

McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present an evening of chamber music featuring McNeese faculty member Jan Scott on clarinet, along with some of her friends, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in Squires Recital Hall. This free event is part of the department’s Spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series.
The program will include: “Gerald McBoing Boing” by Dr. Seuss and Gail Kubick, “Sonata” by Keith Gates and “Sonata in F Minor” by Johannes Brahms.
She will be assisted with her program by Dave Scott, trumpet, Lina Morita, piano, and Lonny Benoit, percussion.
Scott is assistant department chair and heads up the Woodwind Studio for clarinet, saxophone and double reeds. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree from the University of Louisville.
