The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program at McNeese aims to provide a well-rounded educational experience, creating a firm foundation in behavior analysis through integrated coursework and practica. The program is dedicated to training competent scientist-practitioners in evidence-based, best-practice behavioral procedures.

The Department of Psychology and Counseling is home to two community-based clinics that provide valuable services to the region while also serving as experiential learning and training opportunities for students in our department.
The McNeese Autism Program (MAP) provides evidence-based assessment, intervention, and support services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Our students, particularly those in behavior analysis and psychology-related fields, gain supervised hands-on experience working with clients in an applied setting. This is the on-site placement for students in the MS in ABA program.
The Kay Doré Counseling Clinic offers affordable mental health counseling services to community members while serving as a clinical training site for students in the MS in CMHC program. Under the supervision of licensed professionals and faculty, students develop counseling skills, gain direct client experience, and apply classroom knowledge in real-world practice.
Together, these clinics strengthen McNeese’s commitment to community engagement by addressing important local needs while supporting the professional development of future scientist-practitioners, behavior analysts, and counselors through high-quality experiential learning opportunities.
