McNeese State University identified the pass rates of two introductory level math courses as an area in need of improvement across the institution. MATH 105 and MATH 113 (replaced by MATH 171 starting in 2026-2027) are courses a majority of the student population must take for degree requirements or prerequisite requirements. The two courses have undergone major revisions to instructional style and presentation of content. Since this is the first year of implementation, we are eager to see how students perform.
