McNeese’s Applied Behavior Analysis Program Is Reaccredited

McNeese State University’s on-campus Master of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) earned full reaccreditation for a three-year cycle from the Association for Behavior Analysis International Accreditation Board (ABAI).
The on-campus ABA graduate program has been accredited by ABAI since 2013 and is currently the only program in the state of Louisiana to hold this distinction.
“Earning reaccreditation was a team effort from the students, staff, clinical behavior analysts and core-ABA faculty in our program,” said Dr. Joanna B. Thompson, director of the Applied Behavior Analysis program. “The graduates of the program are immediately eligible to apply for their credentialing examination as Board Certified Behavior Analysts.”
The ABAI standards ensure that training programs in the field of ABA assess curricular development, faculty qualifications, clinical supervision and student outcomes to ensure evidence-based best practice in training.
The seven-semester, or 58-credit hour, graduate ABA program is housed within the Department of Psychology and Counseling which offers two clinical master’s degree programs—one in ABA and one in clinical mental health counseling.
