McNeese Library to Host Rare Book Petting Zoo

McNeese State University’s Frazar Memorial Library is hosting a Rare Book Petting Zoo on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Archives Reading Room.
McNeese students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to view the treasures from the library’s book collections, including fore-edge painted books, art books, rare first editions and hand-painted illustrations. Guests may handle the books and take photographs, but no food or drink will be permitted.
Some of the rare books on display include books from the 1500s, 1700s and 1800s. No food or drinks will be allowed near the books, but guests may handle the books and take photographs. This is a rare opportunity to get an up-close experience with these books.
Persons requesting accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact the Office of Campus Compliance and Civility at least 72 hours before the event. Additional information is available from the Office of Campus Compliance and Civility, located in the Burton Business Center, Suite 407, by phone at 337-475-5428, by fax at 337-475-5603, or by email at compliance@mcneese.edu.
