McNeese Fall Production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”
McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts opens the 2022-2023 McNeese Theatre season with the fall production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19-22 and 2 p.m. Oct. 23 in Tritico Theatre.
The play is a collaboration with Lake Charles Little Theatre.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a 1967 musical comedy with music and lyrics by Clark Gesner, based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip “Peanuts.”
“With charm, wit and heart, ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’ explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown and his friends in the ‘Peanuts’ gang through songs and vignettes based on the beloved Charles Schulz comic strip,” said Paul Pharris, McNeese technical director in the Hanna Department of Performing Arts who will direct the play.
Musical numbers include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime” and “Happiness.”
Cast members include: Braden Magness, Charlie Browb; Juliet Riviere, Sally Brown; Reese Manuel, Lucy Van Pelt; Karli Drounett, Linus Van Pelt; Jaspin Vaughn, Shroeder; and Rebecca Harris, Snoopy; Amber Garner, Sylvia Leger, Kaley Frith and Caden Fontenot, “Peanuts” gang.
Alison Moreno will serve as musical director and Heather Partin is head of costume design.
