Nursing Students Receive White Coats During Ceremony
Fifty-one nursing students in their fourth semester received white coats during the Inaugural White Coat Ceremony hosted by the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
The ceremony is an emerging practice across health disciplines and signifies a student’s acceptance to the college and the beginning of their clinical rotations. Each student received a coat and an apricot ribbon that is a representation of the nursing degree.
Receiving a white coat is the beginning of a student’s journey to participate in the pinning ceremony at the end of their senior year that is a symbolic welcome to the profession.
