McNeese Rodeo

Your First Choice

Since 1947, rodeo has been a core institution at McNeese, and we’re one of the few universities in Louisiana with a dedicated men and women’s team. With five national championship team titles, two reserve champion titles, countless region champion titles, and more than 35 individual champion titles, the men’s and women’s rodeo teams at McNeese have demonstrated a tradition of excellence over the past 60 years.

McNeese competes within the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Southern Region, which includes 137 member schools and universities in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming, and for over fifteen years, McNeese Rodeo has qualified to compete in the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.

Join Our Team

The McNeese Rodeo team offers team members a covered practice arena just a few miles from the university. Free stalls are available to team members, as well as practice equipment including a mighty broncy, drop barrel, spur boards, rope ‘n tie/calf sleds, heel-o-matic and a goat tying dummy. We also have a gym on site for team members.

Scholarships are available based on outstanding athletic performance in college rodeos, high school and open rodeos.
