McNeese Artists Are First Choice to Honor Area Legends
McNeese talent is well represented in the Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana’s current exhibit honoring 15 local legends on display through April 11 in the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center.
Eleven McNeese art faculty and alumni are among the 15 area artists selected for the “Twofold: Lake Charles Legends” exhibit. They include Rex Alexander, Matthew Duplichain, Meghan Fleming, Meagan Green, Lindsey K. Johnson, Heather Ryan Kelley, Devin Morgan, Lydia Powers, Lisa Reinauer, Lynn Reynolds and Sejeela Siddiq.
Artists were asked to create an abstract piece of art for their “legend” to illustrate that person’s legacy while showcasing their talents. Two of the legends being honored are McNeese alumni – author Andre Dubus and former Senator and Lake Charles Mayor Willie Mount.
