McNeese to Host Wellness Fair
McNeese State University students’ long awaited opportunity to unwind is finally here thanks to the Wellness Fair being held on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
The Wellness Fair, presented by the McNeese Counseling Center, will offer various workshops, trainings and activities from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. All events will encourage students to take steps toward improving their overall well-being.
Several on campus organizations are participating, including Student Health Services, Nutrition and Dietics and the Suicide Educaiton and Awareness Program.
In the New Ranch, students can make candles and stuffed animals from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participate in raffles and check their blood pressure.
In the Quad, students can participate in a sleep hygiene activity and a posture correction activity. There will also be a Wellness Wednesday tabling event for students to connect with community members and gather resources about the eight dimensions of wellness.
In the LaJeunesse Room, students can check out workshops including Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention by Dr. Kevin Yaudes and Understanding the Importance of Credit and Budgeting with a Purpose by Alexius Williams.
From 2-4 p.m. students are invited to the Cowboy Closet open house in room 211-B of the Burton Business Center.
All other Wellness Fair activities will be held in the Quad, the New Ranch and the M-Rec.
