McNeese to Host Poet Ariel Francisco

The McNeese State University Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing is hosting a poetry reading featuring Ariel Francisco on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. in Stokes Auditorium in Hardtner Hall. This reading is free and open for the public to enjoy.
Francisco is the author of four full-length poetry collections. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, Academy of American Poets, Poetry, The New York City Ballet and Latino Book Review.
Francisco also translates poetry collections from Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Haiti. Currently, he is an assistant professor of poetry and Hispanic studies at Louisiana State University.
Founded in 1981, McNeese’s MFA degree program is the oldest MFA program in Louisiana and one of the oldest in the Southeast.
