McNeese presents faculty recital

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free recital by McNeese faculty members Judy Hand, on flute, and Lina Morito, on piano, at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, in Tritico Theatre. The program is part of the spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series hosted by the department.
The performance will feature “Sonata for Flute and Piano” by Lennox Berkeley, “Ballade, Pastoral and Dance for Flute, French Horn and Piano” by Eric Ewazen, “Two Bits” by Henry Cowell, “Sunstreams” and “The Great Train Race” by Ian Clarke and “Two Movements From the Suite: Mother and Child and Gamin” by William Grant Still. McNeese faculty member Rod Lauderdale will accompany on the French horn.
Hand is associate professor of flute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts in flute performance from Louisiana State University.
Morita is an associate professor of piano. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University, her Master of Music degree from Rice University and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music.
