McNeese Counseling Center Offers Virtual Sessions

The McNeese Counseling Center has moved online and is offering virtual appointments to currently enrolled students Monday-Thursday 7:30a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Online appointments can be scheduled by calling 337-475-5136.
“We know that this is a stressful time for students,” says James Grimes, interim Counseling Center director. “The Counseling Center provides a range of mental health services, including assessment, consultation and crisis interventions. While we are no longer seeing students physically in our offices, we want students to know that our services are still available.”
After students set up an appointment, they will receive a link to the virtual session that can be accessed from a computer, laptop, phone or any device using Apple iOS or Android.
“It’s very easy and user friendly on the student’s side,” says Grimes. “There is nothing for the student to download, they just need access to their Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser.”
The Counseling Center is staffed by full-time, licensed professional counselors. Counseling sessions are confidential other than exceptions required by law.
All currently enrolled McNeese students are eligible for treatment at for no charge at the time of service. The Counseling Center is funded by the student health fee that students pay each semester.
