McNeese Banners to Present Letters Home

Banners at McNeese State University will present the stage production “Letters Home” on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. in F.G. Bulber Auditorium. The event is free to the public thanks to the support of Reed Mendelson with Ameriprise Financial Services as well as a grant from the UPS Foundation.
“Letters Home”puts the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq front and center by bringing to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.
The critically acclaimed production received a nomination for a Joseph Jefferson Award as “Outstanding New Play” and is inspired by the New York Times op-ed article, “The Things They Wrote,” and the HBO documentary, “Last Letters Home.”
Additionally, letters and correspondences are used from Frank Schaeffer’s books, “Voices From the Front,” “Letters Home From America’s Military Family,” “Faith of Our Sons” and “Keeping Faith.”
Registration for “Letters Home” is required and can be done online at www.banners.org.
