McNeese Banners Schedules Classic Disney Film Mary Poppins
A free public screening of the 1964 classic Walt Disney movie, “Mary Poppins,” will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in Stokes Auditorium of McNeese State University’s Hardtner Hall as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese season.
Winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Actress (Julie Andrews), Best Song (“Chim Chim Cher-ee”) and Best Visual Effects, “Mary Poppins” is the perfect movie for a family outing.
The movie follows Mary Poppins as she flies out of the windy London skies and into the home of two mischievous children – Jane and Michael Banks. With the help of a carefree chimney sweep named Bert (Dick Van Dyke), the spirited nanny turns every chore into a game and every day into a “Jolly Holiday” at the Banks home. Be sure to share the music and the magic of “Mary Poppins” with Banners so you’ll be ready for the much anticipated sequel in December –“Mary Poppins Returns.”
