McNeese Autism Program Offers Summer BRIDGES

The McNeese State University Autism Program (MAP) is hosting the BRIDGES summer program from June 3 – July 12 for adolescents and young adults with autism.
BRIDGES – which stands for Building Respect and Independence by Directing, Guiding and Encouraging Socialization – was introduced in 2017 to “bridge a gap” between available adolescent and adulthood services for young adults aged 14-18 on the autism spectrum, says Lettie Goings, director of the program.
“The BRIDGES summer program consists of focused skills for independence that will help support employment and social success for adolescents and young adults,” she says.
MAP has been providing applied behavior analysis therapy for patients diagnosed with autism since 2008. Currently, the program provides one-on-one ABA therapy to patients as well as more specialized treatment programs like BRIDGES.
