McNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY
The Horatio Alger National and Bill Doré Louisiana Scholarships reward students who possess the character to succeed in life. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives.
The targeted scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. The Horatio Alger Louisiana Scholars program is funded by Mr. William Doré, a McNeese alumnus. Mr. Doré grew a small Gulf of Mexico diving company with three workers into an international corporation (Global Industries, Ltd.) with more than 8000 employees.
The William J. Dore scholarships are available to Louisiana students planning to attend McNeese to pursue a higher education.

Ms. Anna Grace Bizzle is an Academic Advisor for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University. Her favorite part of advising at McNeese is being a resource for students as they get used to the expectations of college and helping students pursue their degrees at such a wonderful school.
