Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Joanna Thompson
Dr. Joanna Thompson is an assistant professor of psychology and earned her doctorate in experimental psychology from Texas Christian University. She is also a 2013 psychology and 2015 experimental psychology and applied behavior analysis graduate of McNeese.
As a behavioral neuroscientist, Dr. Thompson studies the relationship between the brain and behavior on the basis of addiction, precursors to addiction and brain processes that underlie the initiation of substance abuse.
Dr. Thompson is member of many professional organizations including the Louisiana Behavior Analysis Association and has presented her research results at Society for Neuroscience conferences. She is also the faculty adviser for the Student Association for Methods in Behavior Analysis.
