Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Byungkyun Chung
Dr. Byungkyun Chung is a Professor of Agricultural Sciences. He received his bachelor’s degree in forestry science from Kon-Kuk University, his master’s degree in soil science from West Texas A&M University and his doctorate in soil fertility from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Chung has taught at McNeese for 11 years and is an adviser for students majoring in general agriculture. His expertise is in sensor-based technology for soil fertility in precision agriculture and how implementing this technology aids producers in making data-based decisions that can improve yields, increase profits and maintain environmental quality.
He is involved with the Louisiana Agriscience Teachers Association and the Environmental Committee of the Chamber/Alliances of Southwest Louisiana and is a member of several professional organizations.
