Freshman Academic Scholarships

Apply for Fall 2022 Freshman Scholarships:

  • Complete the Application for Admission and Scholarships before the deadline
  • Deadline for Priority Consideration: December 1
  • Final Deadline: February 1
  • Submit all documents/information (official test scores, transcripts, etc.) to determine admission eligibility
  • Awarding will begin October 1 and will continue until funding is exhausted
  • Awards are only made to accepted students who are eligible to enroll in college-level English and math
  • Housing scholarships only apply to campus housing for students residing on campus
  • Scholarships are available for 8 regular semesters provided 12 credit hours are earned each regular semester and the specified GPA is maintained

Eligibility:

  • 2.50 GPA or above
  • Enrollment in one of the following areas of study: Agricultural Sciences, Biological Science, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Education, Engineering, Family Science, Nursing, Radiologic Sciences and Medical Laboratory Science
  • Southwest Louisiana Resident

McNeese Foundation Freshman Honor Award

Eligibility:

  • 2.50 GPA or above

Distinguished Achievement Award

Eligibility:

  • 2.50 GPA or above
  • Possess distinctive characteristics, abilities or leadership qualities

Louisiana Lagniappe Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • 3.00 GPA or above

Out-of-State Fee Waiver Awards

McNeese Access Award

Eligibility:

  • ACT 21 or SAT 1060
  • 2.25 GPA or above
  • Readiness for college-level English and math

Value:

  • $2,500 per semester

McNeese Special Achievement Award

Eligibility:

  • 2.50 GPA or above
  • High achievement in debate, visual arts or dance, music or theater performance; cheerleaders; flag corps; spirit groups; and the Student Government Association president
  • Participation in said activity

Value:

  • $2,500 per semester
