Purpose
- To define the appropriate actions and responses to various emergency situations that may occur on the University campus.
Responsibility
- Any individual that witnesses a potential emergency situation shall contact University Police.
- University Police shall be contacted for all on-campus emergency situations.
- To assist the University Police as needed, McNeese State University has a Crisis Response Team.
- Team Members include:
- Chief, University Police
- Investigator, University Police
- Director of Operations, University Police
- Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management & Student Affairs
- Coordinator, University Counseling Center
- Associate Dean, Student Services
- Director, Intramurals / REC Complex
- Director, Facilities and Planning
- Director, Public Information and Communication
- Academic Computing Center Representative
- Building Coordinator(s)
- Environmental, Health, Safety and Hazardous Waste Officer
- Chief, University Police
- Team Members include:
Guidelines
The primary Incident Command Center for emergency response is located in the University Police conference room. Crisis Response Team member duties include but are not limited to:
- Chief, University Police
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Mobilizes police officers to:
- Manages site security
- Provide crowd control
- Contact area agencies as needed
- Mobilizes police officers to:
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Investigator, University Police
- Investigate the incident / accident
- Assist with site security
- Director of Operations, University Police
- Official record keeper for Crisis Response Team
- Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management & Student Affairs
- Serves as chairperson of the Crisis Response Team
- Coordinates University emergency medical services
- Coordinates contact of relatives
- Coordinator, University Counseling Center
- Provides incident debriefing
- Provides counseling services as needed
- Associate Dean, Student Services
- Assists Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management & Student Affairs
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Director, Intramurals / REC Complex
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Serves in an advisory capacity
- Director, Facilities and Planning
- Mobilizes Physical Plant personnel as required for response efforts
- Mobilizes appropriate materials and equipment for emergency response
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Director, Public Information and Communication
- Prepares and releases statements and updates to the media concerning site activities
- Academic Computing Center Representative
- Serves in an advisory capacity
- Building Coordinator(s)
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Serves in an advisory capacity
- Environmental, Health, Safety and Hazardous Waste Officer
- Coordinates assembling of Crisis Response Team members at Incident Command Center.
- Serves on the building evacuation team
- Serves in an advisory capacity
- Assist the Director, Facilities and Planning as needed
- Serves as a liaison between incident commanders, medical personnel, emergency personnel, law enforcement agencies, University Police and other appropriate University officials and personnel.
