Woodside Energy LNG Hosts McNeese Students at LNG Americas Summit
McNeese State University students who are pursuing the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Business Certificate and are received the Woodside Energy LNG Business Scholarship last semester were invited to attend a panel discussion at LNG Americas Summit and Exhibition in Lake Charles.
The College of Business students had the unique opportunity to engage directly with leaders in the global LNG sector. The discussion titled, “New Regulatory Realities and the U.S. LNG Project Pipeline,” featured Sarah Bairstow, president of Woodside Energies’ Louisiana LNG.
Following the panel, students were invited to a private lunch with Bairstow and Rachel Archer, vice president of Louisiana LNG, where they received career insights, professional advice and learned more about the LNG industry.
“During this lunch we were able to discuss corporate responsibility, things that students value in our community and opportunities for future Woodside scholarship recipients to connect with the company. I cannot be more appreciative of this company’s compassion for the community in which it is expanding into, and the opportunities that they are giving McNeese students,” said Jillian Anderson, an accounting major from Sulphur.
“Woodside was generous to allow McNeese business students to attend the panel and speak with the president and vice president of Louisiana LNG. Our discussions were inspiring and reminded students of the many paths to success,” said Shaylinn Stahlman, an accounting and finance major from Westlake.
In addition to providing scholarship support, Woodside’s partnership creates exclusive engagement opportunities that help students gain the knowledge and professional skills needed for successful careers in LNG.
