McNeese to Open Student Success Center
McNeese State University is creating the Student Success Center on the first floor of the Frazar Memorial Library as a one-stop shop for student support services. McNeese offers a student-centric college experience and that includes ensuring students have the support they need to help them persist to graduation.
The Student Success Center will house tutoring services like the Write to Excellence Center, where students can receive assistance with writing assignments, and the Academic Computing and Learning Center, that offers tutoring in math and sciences. The Office of Accessibility Services is already in place at the library. Future plans include Freshman Advising, where first year students visit with advisers to plan their classes each semester.
Career and Professional Development Services will also be in the Student Success Center. This is where students can get help exploring careers related to their majors, career guidance, writing resumes, interview preparation and job search strategies.
The books and shelves have been moved from the first floor to the second and third floors, and the contractor will begin putting in walls before the end of the year. The Student Success Center will open in the spring with tutoring services, and other services opening in the future.
