McNeese Senior Interns With The Response Group Inc.
Prajeet Bohara, general computer science senior at McNeese State University, spent time with The Response Group Inc. (TRG) through a remote internship. TRG, located in Cypress, Texas, provides technology to assist with response industries and emergency preparedness.
Bohara, from Nepal, discovered the importance of approaching problems systematically to improve efficiency and accuracy. Along with this method, he learned that customer satisfaction drives companies rather than developers themselves.
“I will use what I learned from this internship to approach future projects with a more structured and problem-solving mindset,” he said. “These skills will help me contribute meaningfully to any team or organization I become a part of.”
Bohara gained not only technical knowledge but also exposure to large projects. He is appreciative of this experience because he built strong professional networks that will serve as a foundation for his future growth and success in the field.
“During my internship, I was able to directly apply many concepts I had learned from my coursework,” he said. “The connection between classroom theory and industry practice showed me how academic learning truly lays the groundwork for professional success.”
Bohara learned that real-world development is as much about long-term adaptability and client collaboration as it is about initial implementation. “It is key to be able to customize, maintain and update software,” he said.
“My future plan is to continue building on the skills and experiences I gained during my internship and apply them toward a career in software and application development,” he explained.
Bohara chose his major because he is amazed at how technology impacts people’s lives in every aspect along with the flexibility and creativity the field offers. “My major not only challenges me to think critically but it also gives me the tools to turn ideas into impactful innovations with limitless potential,” he added.
“I chose McNeese because its compact size allows me to connect directly with professors and faculty, which has been invaluable for my academic and professional growth,” Bohara said. “The smaller community also creates opportunities to take on leadership roles and get involved in meaningful ways across campus.”
Bahora encourages students to build projects to strengthen their understanding of classroom concepts while also showing employers that they can apply skills and be an asset to any company.
