McNeese Rodeo Updates
The McNeese State University men’s and women’s rodeo teams both placed first at the Texas A&M rodeo competition in College Station, Texas.
Zach Jongbloed, Iowa, and Cole Frey, Morganza, finished first and second respectively in the men’s all-around competition.
In steer wrestling, Jongbloed, won first place, Gabe Soileau, Bunkie, finished fourth and Remey Parrot, Mamou, finished sixth.
In tie down roping, Jongbloed won first while Frey finished second.
In team roping/header, Frey won first.
In bareback riding, Colton Onyett, Randgley, Colorado, finished second and Garrett Mouton, Lafayette, finished sixth.
In saddle bronc riding, Ryder Sanford, Sulphur, finished fourth and Lathan Lyons, Eunice, finished fifth.
For the women’s team, Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, took first place and Carly Hibbs, Prineville, Oregon, finished fifth in goat tying.
In barrel racing, Chloe Frey, Eunice, tied for fifth place.
The men’s rodeo team placed second and the women’ s team placed third at the recent Hill College rodeo competition in Hillsboro, Texas.
In steer wrestling, Parrott won first, Frey finished second, Jongbloed finished fifth and Soileau tied for seventh.
In bareback riding, Onyett finished fifth, while in team roping/heele, Kody Hendricks, Green Cove Springs, Florida, also finished fifth.
For the women’s team, Manzanares continued her streak in goat tying with another first place win.
In breakaway roping, Hibbs tied for fifth.
McNeese rodeo will complete the spring season March 20-21 at Wharton County Community College in Texas.
