McNeese Offers Assistance for Completing the FAFSAÂ
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2025-2026 academic year. McNeese State University is hosting FAFSA Pop-Ups to help current and incoming students complete the application.
The McNeese Financial Aid Office will host FAFSA Pop-Ups on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Saturday, Jan. 25, on campus in the Frazar Memorial Library from 1 to 4 p.m. No appointment is needed. McNeese students can stop by and renew their FAFSA and incoming students and their families can get assistance in filing the FAFSA.
Students can qualify for federal grants, work-study opportunities and loans to help pay for college through the FAFSA. All students are encouraged to complete the application.
Students who have never completed the FAFSA need to set up a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID before attending a FAFSA Pop-Up by going to www.studentaid.gov and clicking on Create an Account.
All students need to bring their FSA ID, social security number and 2023 tax information. Students who are dependents need to bring their parent/contributor’s information as well.
The FAFSA is also important for current McNeese students who are receiving TOPS, grants or student loans. To avoid delays in receiving your financial aid for the 2025-2026 academic year, students need to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.
