McNeese Master of Fine Arts Program Hosting Poetry Reading

McNeese State University’s Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing presents the 2023 Frank Granger Visiting Poet’s Reading by poet Diamond Forde. The free reading and book signing will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Stokes Auditorium in Hardtner Hall.
Forde’s debut collection, “Mother Body,” won the 2019 Saturnalia Poetry Prize. She has received numerous awards and prizes, including the Pink Poetry Prize, the Furious Flower Poetry Prize and CLA’s Margaret Walker Memorial Prize.
She is a Callaloo and Tin House fellow, whose work has appeared in Massachusetts Review, Ninth Letter, NELLE, Tupelo Quarterly and more. Diamond serves as the assistant editor of Southeast Review and the fiction editor for Nat. Brut.
Forde holds an MFA from University of Alabama and is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University.
Founded in 1981, McNeese’s MFA degree program is the oldest MFA program in Louisiana and one of the oldest in the Southeast.
