Chamber Singers to hold Concert
The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free concert by the McNeese Chamber Singers on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in Tritico Theatre. The choral group is under the direction of Dr. Darryl Jones, director of choral activities. Dr. HaeJu Choi will accompany the choir.
The program will feature selections about the joy of singing and the impact of music in celebration, love and death. Selections will include “O Sing Joyfully” by Adrian Batten, “Oh, How Can I Keep From Singing” by Robert A. Harris, Coronation Anthem #4 “Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened” by G.F. Handel, “If Music Be the Food of Love” by René Clausen, “Sing Me to Heaven” by Daniel Gawthrop, “My Flight for Heaven” by Z. Randall Stroope, “A Jubilant Song” by Norman Dello Joio and, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz,” “Over the Rainbow” arranged by Mac Huff.
Chamber Singers members include: sopranos, Angelica Arroyo, Kaitlin Colby, Lara Connally, Heather Foreman, Rebecca Harris and Caitlyn Reeves; altos, Therese Aguillard, Kennedy Anderson, MaryKate Core and Isabella Rodriguez; tenors, Curry Burton, Joel Jacob and Aarton Tanner; and basses, Caleb Jackson, John Paul Primeaux, Travis Stegall, Jacob Voisin and Michael Wolf.
