2022 Emeritus Recipients
McNeese State University honored the four faculty members with Emeritus status for their exemplary service to students, the university and the community.
The 2022 recipients, as well as the 2021 and 2020 recipients, were recognized at a recent reception during McNeese Week for faculty and staff.
Emeritus titles are awarded to retired faculty and administrators in recognition of distinguished academic careers and professional contributions and those who have served significant portions of their careers at McNeese.
Receiving 2022 Professor Emeritus status were: Dr. Debra Hollingsworth, nutrition and food science, College of Agricultural Sciences; Dr. William Jens (not pictured), accounting, and Dr. Lonnie Phelps, management, both in the College of Business; and Dr. John Griffith, chemical engineering, College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
2021 Emeritus recipients were: Dr. Sandra Leder, education professions, Burton College of Education, Professor Emeritus; and Dr. Ray Miles, dean, College of Liberal Arts, Dean Emeritus (posthumously).
2020 Emeritus recipients were: Dr. Robert Voight, health and human performance, Burton College of Education, Dr. Henry Sirgo, political science, and Dr. Billy Turner, sociology and criminal justice, College of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Tommy Bogle, physics, Dr. Russ Ham, chemistry (posthumously), and Dr. Joseph Sneddon, chemistry, College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics, Professor Emeritus; and Dr. George Mead, dean, College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics, Dean Emeritus (posthumously).
