McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibit

The 32nd Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition will open with a reception honoring the exhibiting artists from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Grand Gallery of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex at McNeese State University.

The exhibit, which runs through May 9, is sponsored in part by the McNeese Student Art Assessment.

Serving as the juror for this year’s exhibition is Stephanie Mitchell, executive director of the Lawndale Arts Center in Houston, Texas. For this year’s display, Mitchell has selected 66 works representing diverse variety of paintings, drawings, photographs, prints and mixed media pieces.

Two submissions by McNeese art majors were also selected ­– “One,” a relief print on found paper by Collin Adams, Moss Bluff, and “Moments With You,” graphite on paper by Camille Vizena, Lake Charles.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the department at 475-5060.
