McNeese Bands Host Virtual Leadership Camp

High school band students from around the country learned leadership skills and conducting techniques from the experts thanks to a two-day virtual music leadership camp hosted by McNeese Bands.
The camp’s goal was to help high school drum majors and student band leaders develop the skills to learn how to run a football game and to lead their peers in their respective marching bands.
High school students received expert advice from McNeese’s own 2020 Grammy Music Education Award-winner Mickey Smith Jr., Jacob Carpenter, High Brass Technician for the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps., and Dr. Tremon Kizer, the Associate Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Central Florida.
