McNeese Visual Arts to Sponsor Gumbowl Fundraiser

The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts is hosting a gumbo fundraiser from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 6, in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex Atrium.
Participants can purchase a bowl of gumbo for $10.00 and receive a ceramic bowl handmade by ceramics students and faculty members. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to help defray costs of McNeese ceramics students attending the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Conference in Richmond, Virginia.
Tickets for the Gumbo Fund Raiser will be available for purchase on a first-come first-served basis at the time of the event. Pre-sale of tickets is not available.
Ticketholders can choose between chicken and sausage gumbo or seafood gumbo and select a handmade ceramic bowl from among 600 pieces. Co-sponsors for this event are Mari and James Bittner, owners of Brick House Catering and Events, and Deb and Bill Mixon.
