McNeese SAGE Series Offers New Orleans Trip

The McNeese State University Leisure Learning program is hosting a two-day sightseeing trip to New Orleans April 18-19 as part of the spring SAGE series.
Participants will visit the National WWII Museum, which features the special exhibit “The Pelican State Goes to War: Louisiana in World War II” as well as the special 4-D film “Beyond All Boundaries,” narrated by actor Tom Hanks.
Then, after visiting the historical Long Vue House and Gardens, participants will cruise down the Mississippi River aboard the Creole Queen to view up close the Tall Ships of America, a selection of antique ships arriving for New Orleans’ Tricentennial anniversary celebration. The ship will dock at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve and Chalmette Battlefield, the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans.
Cost is $295 for chartered bus and admission to exhibits. Hotel and meals are not included, and participants must make their own overnight accommodations.
April 4 is the trip registration deadline. For more information or to register, call the leisure learning office at 475-5616.
