McNeese Rodeo Set

The McNeese State University Rodeo Team is holding its 64th annual rodeo Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Burton Complex Outdoor Arena.
On Friday, the slack starts at noon and the rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m., while on Saturday, the slack begins at 10 a.m. and the rodeo at 6:30 p.m.
Louisiana Express will perform in concert one hour prior to each night’s rodeo.
On Thursday, Oct. 25, the 5th annual Halloween costume rodeo is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. All contestants will be in costume and the event is free.
Also on Thursday, the rodeo team is hosting a field trip for area elementary schools.
Over 400 rodeo athletes representing 12 collegiate rodeo teams from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Southern Region will compete in both men’s and women’s divisions.
Tickets are $10 and admission is free for children ages 5 and under. McNeese students get in free with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the gate. For more information, call 475-5690.
