McNeese Hosts Joint Junior Recital

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free joint junior vocal recital featuring Lindsey Bower and Amy Phillips at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.
Phillips, a mezzo-soprano from Livingston, Texas, played the leading role of Lily in the McNeese spring musical production of “The Secret Garden” and is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the professional women’s music fraternity, and the student chapter of the National Association of Teachers and Singing. Her program includes works from Vivaldi, Mozart, Samuel Barber and Lori Laitman.
Bower, a soprano from Lake Charles, is president of Sigma Alpha Iota, librarian and past president of the McNeese Chamber Singers and a member of NATS. Her program features works by Debussy, Mozart and Laitman.
Both students are four-year recipients of both an endowed music scholarship and a choral service award.
