McNeese Faculty Recital featuring Jan Scott and Friends

McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present an evening of chamber music featuring McNeese faculty member Jan Scott on clarinet, along with some of her friends, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 5, in Tritico Theatre. This free event is part of the department’s Spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series.
The program will include: “Sonata” by Leonard Bernstein; “Die gefangene Nacthigall” by Heinrich Proch and edited by J&E Xanthoudakis; “B’Shertah” by Stanley Friedman; “Hommage a Z.Kodaly” by Bela Kovacs; “Mary Had a Lamb” by Greg Danner; and “Caramel Mou” by Darius Milhaud.
She will be assisted with her program by Lonny Benoit, percussion, John Garst, tenor, Judy Hand, flute, Beverly Jones, oboe/narrator, Susan Lauderdale, bassoon, Rod Lauderdale, horn, Carol Lines, soprano, Lina Morita, piano, Bill Rose, trombone, and Dave Scott, trumpet.
Scott is assistant department chair and heads up the Woodwind Studio for clarinet, saxophone and double reeds. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree from the University of Louisville.
