McNeese Chamber Singers Concert Set

McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present the Chamber Singers in a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the Tritico Theatre. The choral group is under the direction of Dr. Darryl Jones, director of choral activities, and is accompanied by Dr. Ulysses Loken.
The program will feature a new four-movement suite by composer Melissa Dunphy titled “Suite Remembrance.” These four movements include “Todentanz,” “All Flesh Is Grass,” “If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking” and “Mourning Into Dancing.”
Also included on the program is “Mass for Four Voices” by William Byrd, “Sing Unto God” by Handel, “Wie Schön Hier Zu Verträumen” by Heinrich von Herzogenberg, “Yo Le Canto Todo El Dia” by David Brunner, “Music, When Soft Voices Die” by Eric Nelson and “Let the River Run” from the motion picture “Working Girl,” written by Carly Simon and arranged by Kirby Shaw.
Chamber Singers members include: sopranos Lindsey Bower, Kaitlin Colby, Lara Connally, Heather Foreman, Caitlyn Reeves and Ashley Traughber; altos MaryKate Core, Amy Phillips, Isabella Rodriguez and Taylor Trahan; tenors Layton Bergstedt and Tyler Brumback; and basses Lucas Orsot, John Paul Primeaux, Austin “Ty” Royer, Travis Stegall and Jacob Voisin.
