McNeese State University’s KBYS 88.3 FM radio station will present special holiday programming on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24).
Longtime weatherman Rob Robin will present “The Rob Robin Christmas Eve Special” from 4-8 p.m. Robin will play some of his favorite holiday music and provide interesting weather facts about Christmases past in Southwest Louisiana. The program will end with a version of “O Holy Night” by local artist Chris Shearman. Sponsor for this program is St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lake Charles.
At 8 p.m., the 79th presentation of Handel’s “Messiah” by the Lake Charles Messiah Chorus will air. This holiday tradition – recorded on Dec. 8 in McNeese’s historic F.G. Bulber Auditorium – is also available at www.kbys.fm
At 10 p.m., a holiday version of “School of Rock” will be presented by Ray Miles and Jeff Lemke. They will present a “Christmas Covers Show” that will feature rock artists who have put their spin on holiday classics.
